The Chair of the event,John Harris is from Compass the Labour Lobby Group, Richard Leese, Labour. Ed Miliband(obviously Labour),Len Wardle(Labour funder), and the FOE guy who to be fair seemed genuine. Overall It was a male, pale, stale, Labour stitch up. What struck me was the 'new labourness of the event.

I thought the event illustrated how out of touch the panel was with reality especially Sir Richard Leese. How can he say Manchester is a green city when they have concreted over most of it. As well as allowing developers to build sub-standard buildings. Without out any thought for such provision as district heating and renewable power. These properties will cost a fortune to upgrade to European standards. As for the guy from the Co-op. The co-op class organic farming as a 'niche market', so one of the biggest farmers in the country will stay dependant on imported fossil fuels. They are supporters of GM food which again is heavily dependant of fossil fuels and strong pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and fertilisers. And this is from a company supposedly supporting the Bee!
By the way I was in the Manchester Green Party sat at the front. And they took only one question from our group before saying they had had enough questions from the Green Party.
