We have seen all this before. Bullying employers and inadequate bosses will declare open season on their staff, exploiting all their insecurities to bolster up their own. Down at the bottom there will only be pills for the lucky and no hope for the rest. No cognitive therapy is available - at least not in any realistic timescale - and the suffering will be fobbed off to a few untrained 'nurses'. Dave is making Thatcher look like a liberal, and the middle managers will be counting their wad - until its their turn.

Pete/ Simon

The cuts are the consequence of the bank bailout and the financial crisis. If you were a genuine conservative/ free marketeer you would oppose the bank bailout - it was a reward for not only massive failure but a decade of systemic fraud. If you were concerned for the ordinary taxpayer as many of your posts claim to be then you would be outraged that the services which everyone uses are to be cut because the money is needed to prop up insolvent banks. But instead you are gleeful at the prospect of privatisation despite the pitiful results it has achieved in public transport, the rail system and utlities.

You repeat the mantra that Blair/ Brown overspent yet you ignore that Cameron pledged to match that spending up to 2008.

Even that bastion of neoliberal thought the IMF has just produced a report which says that austerity is an economic disaster and is preventing any hope of a recovery across Europe. But you don't care because your opinions are more driven by hate for public sector employees and working class oiks than they are by any rational concern for the society you live in.

'Campaigning petitioners 38 Degrees already have more than 85,000 signatures to their e-petition'

E-petitions are just rabble rousing. I associate them with causes like the call for the return of capital punishment or the UK leaving the EU.

Very Daily Mail.

So the UKBA has been vindicated.

It is a fair and just organisation which has seen fit to stop two people being deported to a backward country.

What was all the fuss about?

andyl,

this site gets next to no comments.

By changing my name I'm trying to make it look a bit more popular.

I'd welcome some input from the working classes.

But we won't get any.

This site is a middle class venture, me included.

It's out of touch with the people it claims to represent.
