Campaigners are urging supporters of the Child M must stay campaign to give a show of strength tomorrow in what could be a decisive day of action to prevent the primary school pupil from being deported to Iran.
The group will be meeting first at 1.45pm at the Manchester High Court.
A second meeting will be held at 5pm outside Manchester Town Hall.
Child M and his family have been served with an order that will see them forcibly returned to Iran. There they face persecution as they are accused of circulating the Salman Rushdie book ‘The Satanic Verses’.
Despite his young age, campaigners allege he has endured several incidents of inhumane treatment at the hands of immigration officials, including a 3 week period spent at Yarl’s Wood detention centre.
The campaign is fronted by teachers and children from Child M’s primary school in Broughton. They say he and his family will not be safe if returned to Iran.
