Community Foundation Grants available

Manchester-based voluntary groups and organisations working with severely disabled children are being offered grants of up to £5,000 from The Community Foundation, through the Manchester Aiming High Fund.

The grant enables organisations to provide short breaks and activities to disabled children including social and sporting activities, play schemes, pre-school groups and youth clubs. It has been been set up by the Community Foundation for Greater Manchester working in partnership with 4CT Limited and Manchester City Council.

Gill Green, Community Foundation Programme Manager for the fund, comments: “this fund is a great support to organisations that work with disabled children and young peple and offers them the opportunity to provide quality, short break experiences that will not only enable fun and engaging activities for the children but also provide a substantial break for the parent”.

The fund can cater for opportunities that will last from a couple of hours to a full days activity and offers disabled children and young people the opportunity to gain new experiences, make friends and have fun with their peers.
