Film Preview: Diary of a Disgraced Soldier
Article published: Tuesday, February 9th 2010
In a taster event for the upcoming KINOFILM festival (28 April- 2 May), the controversial Diary of a Disgraced Soldier is screening at greenroom arts centre on Wednesday 10 February, along with a programme of short films.
This is only the second screening for a documentary that is relevant and hard-hitting, raising questions over military behaviour while offering a sensitive insight to post-conflict adjustment. Part video-diary, we follow Martin after his discharge from the army over his involvement in a scandal while serving in Iraq. Martin battles with anger, shame and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, finding solace in painting and music.
Directors Neil Cole, Chris Rowe, Richard Atkinson will be present after the screening for a Q&A session. The MULE will review the event here.
