Rabad Hamar deportation campaigner to appear TONIGHT on radical radio show

Article published: Thursday, July 29th 2010

Local activist radio show Under The Pavement will feature Sally Hyman from the ‘Don’t deport 16 year old Rabar Hamad’ Campaign tonight from 11pm-1am on the South Manchester community radio station ALL FM 96.9.

The campaign aims to prevent the forced repatriation of Oldham-based GCSE pupil Rabar Hamad, who through a series of Home Office blunders has been told he could face deportation to Iraq after having been erroneously assessed as 20 years old. Recently the group has been promised help from Oldham MP and former Immigration Minister Phil Woolas, adding to the a wave of public support which has so far seen over 900 signatures collected on the online petition.

Sally will be talking about the campaign, with an update on the progress on Rabar’s appeal and letting listeners know what they can do to show their support.

Under The Pavement has been broadcasting for over six years now, with regular guests and interviews covering the frontline of direct action and grass roots resistance in Manchester.
